Organization Overview

PUC National is a non-profit organization that serves to promote, support, benefit, replicate, and carry out the purposes and mission of Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) Schools.

We have a contractual relationship with Partnerships to Uplift Communities (PUC) Schools to provide a variety of support services to the schools in NE Los Angeles and the NE San Fernando Valley. This includes but is not limited to Finance, Human Resources, Operations, IT and Data Management, facilities identification and acquisition, fundraising, grant management, college access, alumni relations, charter development and renewal, and compliance.

The Team Member we are searching for

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Data and Student Information, the Data Analyst II will be part of a team that creates powerful data visualizations to help stakeholders make data-driven decisions. The Data Analyst II will also partake in the production, maintenance, and advancement of data processes, systems, and the library of dashboards and reports. In addition to the technical requirements, this position will require building strong relationships with organizational decision-makers and remaining solution-oriented. What you will need to accomplish: As part of a team: build, manage, and maintain a library of reports and Tableau dashboards Using SQL, work within PUC's data warehousing environments to create database objects (tables, views, stored procedures), develop data processes, and write queries for ad-hoc analyses Coordinate recurring projects (including annual survey administration, state/internal data processing, compliance reports, etc.) managed by the Data Team Meet with key stakeholders to define requirements for projects and ensure data needs are being met effectively Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the flow of data between systems used by the organization Conduct rigorous quality checks and necessary analyses to ensure the reliability of data within reporting systems from beginning (raw) to final stage (visualization/report) Develop and continuously grow a detailed working knowledge of PUC data systems, internal/external stakeholder requirements, and database schemas Design training materials and conduct presentations for teachers and staff in the use of data systems and dashboards Develop clear, in-depth technical documentation for data processes and reports managed by the Data Team Generate ad-hoc reports needed by the organization efficiently and accurately Respond to support ticket requests and other inquiries regarding the development process, access to, and interpretation of reports and data dashboards Provide excellent customer support in-person and remotely via phone and email Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

What do we require from you?

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in related field (or equivalent training and experience) preferred

Experience: Two (2) years minimum of related work experience in data/analytics required Work experience in education preferred

Skills and Abilities Proficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook (with an emphasis on strong Excel skills) Ability to analyze spreadsheets and complex data for accuracy and to test hypotheses Experience working with Tableau or equivalent data visualization software Experience working with PowerSchool or equivalent student information system Working knowledge of SQL (Oracle, MS SQL Server) Working knowledge of ETL/data processes, best practices, and tools Excellent customer service and written/verbal communication skills Organized and detailed orientedSystematically tracks, completes, and follows up on tasks Must be flexible and team-oriented Ability to work both independently and as a group as needed Strong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of work Problem solver, self-starter, fast learner, and has a can-do attitude Able to travel between 14 schools in Northeast Los Angeles and Northeast San Fernando Valley Bilingual in Spanish preferred Alignment with core characteristics required of every PUC employee: pursuit of excellence, innovation, community, tenacity, and authenticity Regular attendance, dependability, and punctuality in conformance with the standards are essential to the successful performance of this position

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Occasionally required to kneel, climb and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds. To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below. Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.
