MRI Technologist PRN as needed

Job Summary
The MRI Technologist is responsible for capturing accurate and concise images using magnetic resonance imaging equipment. The MRI Technologist works closely with physicians, communicates clearly and compassionately with patients, and performs duties according to established safety measures.
Job Responsibilities
  • Position patients to capture the right image as prescribed by the radiologist.
  • Clearly explain procedures to patients and address any questions or concerns. Monitor equipment functions throughout the procedure to ensure captured images are clear and readable.
  • Monitor patients during the scan, providing for the emotional and physical comfort and safety of the patient. Observe and report general condition of patients for signs and symptoms that may be indicative of change and/or require modification to the imaging procedure.
  • Maintain accurate patient records by archiving daily information into software systems, records of examinations performed, and any other required information. Provide monthly statistics as requested or required.
  • Follow organizational and regulatory procedures to ensure a clean and safe environment for employees, patients, and visitors.
  • Assist the radiologist in viewing and reconstructing images.
  • Coordinate the schedule for MRI patients.
  • Perform patient care as a staff technologist when required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education Requirements
  • Minimum: Graduate of an approved Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT).
  • Preferred: American Registry of Radiologic Technology in Magnetic Resonance
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum: MRI experience 6 months
License/Certification Requirements
Minimum:
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technology Certification in Radiology
  • Indiana Radiologic Health Operators License
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technology Certification in MRI (ARRT-MR) within 12 months of hire or transfer into the position
  • Basic Life Safety (American Heart Association)
