The Production Supervisor supports hourly employees in multiple production cells / areas with or without team leaders in the molding, vial assembly and/or development of finished goods or component parts. Provides resources, tools, and direction needed for the value adders to be as effective and efficient as possible. Manages and monitors safety, quality, cost, delivery, people/engagement and sustainability metrics (SQDCPS targets). Own’s complex injection molding processes and assists in mold evaluation / directs repairs / reconditioning.

Responsibilities:

· Supervise all employees in department(s) and manage the flow of production.

· Acts as the technical expert for various injection molding processes and mold repair / reconditioning.

· Maintain department / plant level visual boards using data driven measurables to track performance.

· Facilitate daily huddles - (schedule changes, previous shift performance, quality issues, down equipment, etc.).

· Support continuous improvement activities, identifying (SQDCPS) metrics and initiating proactive problem solving and corrective actions.

· Perform layered audits (5S / Safety / Manufacturing Process) and prevent passing defects to customer.

· Hold teams accountable to processes, systems, and results.

· Ensure standardized work and process discipline are followed.

· Able to coach and develop employees and administer disciplinary notices when necessary.

· Participate in scheduling and production planning.

· Work with domestic purchasing to track, manage, and release raw materials / components.

· Perform / supervise / train employees on machine set-ups and changeovers.

· Work with HR to maintain proper staffing requirements for the production area.

· Approves employee’s appraisals, wage adjustments and vacation schedules.

· Assist in performing risk / ergo assessments and make recommendations for improvements.

· Supports, enforces and complies with all company policies and procedures.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.


Job Requirements:
A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred. 3 – 5 years prior relevant technical work experience in an injection molding production environment is required. Prior supervisory experience is preferred. Prior knowledge and/or experience advising high performance work groups and experience with implementation and monitoring of ISO90001 processes. Requires the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels with in the organization. Must be self-motivated and reliable.
