  • Perform new client medical evaluations and assign treatment plans per protocol.
  • Evaluate new clients as needed for medical problems or treatment needs.
  • Perform ongoing evaluation and implementation of treatment plans during initial detoxification period.
  • Communicate with the providers regarding client needs and adjustments in the treatment plan.
  • Perform education and support activities with clients regarding medical problems or health maintenance.
  • Participate in policy/procedural development and implementation.
  • Ordering medications on behalf of providers.
  • Assist in self-administration of medications.
  • Assist in medical room procedures.
  • Be well versed in all rules, policies, and procedures and successfully completes relevant competencies.
  • Ensure that Medical Rooms are clean and stocked.
  • Ensure that first aid supplies are available and stocked in all med rooms.
  • Filing of medical papers for current and past clients.
  • Schedule medical, dental, and specialty appointments after consulting with Logistics.
  • Prepare necessary information prior to client's medical appointments.
  • Request medical records from appointments with an outside provider through appropriate personnel.
  • Performance of daily tasks and monthly audits as related to treatment room policies for such.
  • Monitoring of those who are complaining of illness- vital signs, symptoms and reporting to the provider for treatment direction.
  • Complete ASAMs in conjunction with therapists.
  • Notify emergency contacts in the event of emergency situations and document communication.
  • Track and keep up with medication ordering for clients on MAT.
  • Prepare necessary paperwork for specialty medications from specialty pharmacies.
  • Take calls from family members of clients.
  • Collaborate with therapists on client's treatment.
  • Administer specialty injections that must be given by healthcare personnel.
  • Ensure proper documentation in EHR.
  • Perform chart audits.
  • Ability to determine if a medical emergency exists and to take appropriate action, when necessary.
  • Knowledge of emergency procedures used in case of alcohol and/or drug overdose.
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude towards clients, staff, volunteers, and students.
