Position Summary:

The Account Manager has diverse responsibilities, from estimating and proposal development to contract sales and project management. This position has a focus on Mechanical Insulation. The Account Manager typically takes the lead on managing and developing specific customer accounts, while also working effectively to support other members of a team that includes both branch and field/craft personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Follow best practices in environmental health and safety to prevent incidents and ensure compliance with applicable regulations, company policy, and customer expectations.
  • Provide outstanding customer service that secures a pipeline of repeat business.
  • Interpret specifications and perform material take-offs from construction drawings.
  • Prepare cost estimates utilizing estimating software or field take-offs.
  • Plan and coordinate with the field workforce for successful project execution.
  • Manage project schedules, labor productivity, material costs, and margins.
  • Develop relationships with customers, vendors, and other industry contacts.
  • Utilize software such as Excel, Navisworks, Bluebeam, JD Edwards, Salesforce, and Velocity EHS.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Previous sales experience in commercial and/or industrial contracting is a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with good attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with estimating software and other relevant software tools.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, architectural/mechanical plans, and flow diagrams.
  • Familiarity with construction project management practices.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, change orders, and related construction documentation.

Required Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent as required.
  • 3+ years of mechanical insulation, estimating, or construction management experience, preferred.
  • Professional Certifications or other training/experience in relevant construction specialty.

Travel:

  • This position involves frequent travel within the assigned territory.
  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required.
