Hino Motors Manufacturing is an OEM that assembles trucks in West Virginia, automotive components in Arkansas, and operates a parts distribution center in California.

We are currently seeking a Manufacturing Quality Development Specialist reporting directly to AGM of Quality in WV facility. This position serves as a liaison between the plant and the corporate headquarters regarding quality matters. The position includes, but is not limited to, ensuring proper Manufacturing and Inspection Quality Management Systems are in place during Product, Process, and Tooling change point activities at the WV and Canada plants, developing change point vehicle and process quality audit materials, and performing root cause analysis and participating in countermeasure development activities.

Key Responsibilities':

Drive improvements at the plants in customer satisfaction measures through improvement of monitoring and strengthening of cause recognition, cause analysis and cause correction.
  • Perform internal quality system audits and corresponding corrective action and improvement activities.
  • New Model Change Point Preparation for Shipping Quality Audit Process
  • Manufacturing and Inspection Change Point Process Audits (Tooling, Jigs, Standard Work)
  • Coordinate with related departments/suppliers for part deviation approval.
  • Vehicle Shipping Suspension Rework Release
  • Engineering Change Instruction Management and Change Point Information Dissemination
  • Corrective Action Approval Processing (Including Investigation and Development Support)
  • Countermeasure Implementation Audits
  • Early-Stage Design Investigation Report (DIR) Resolution Support
  • Weekly Shipping Quality Audit Reporting to Japan
  • VIN Label Collision and De-rate reprints for Sales Division

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • B.S. is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in Mechanical Inspection, Automotive Inspection, or Manufacturing Processes helpful
  • Previous work experience working for a Japanese supplier preferred

  • Mechanical/Manufacturing process knowledge
  • Root Cause Analysis and Resolution Knowledge
  • Ability to analyze and improve processes
  • Ability to read and understand part and assembly drawings
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Local/Federal vehicle regulations a plus
  • Strong MS Excel, MS Outlook, and MS PowerPoint skill sets
