Job Description Job Description MANUFACTURING ENGINEER for  Yoh Staffing Services  on behalf of our client, located in  Gloucester, MA. This position is available as an 18-month contract with a good chance of going permanent. This is for a global leader in materials engineering solutions for the semiconductor, flat panel display, and solar photovoltaic industries.  They provide equipment, services equipment, and software to help customer manufacture advanced productions. Expertise includes modifying materials at atomic and industrial levels, and they are responsible for producing many new chips and advanced displays.  Their technologies help improve areas of semiconductor devices such as power, performance, area, cost, and time-to-market.

$40 to $45 dollars per hour depending on experience

The Big Picture – Top Skills You Should Possess:
  • 5 years of Manufacturing Engineer experience
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience in developing, implementing methods, operation sequence and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies and final assembles.
  • Leadership of engineer’s experience
  • Experience in driving manufacturing engineering ePLC deliverables.
  • Experience creating manufacturing cost determining time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process.
  • Providing test procedures working with design and software engineering to define test specification.
  • Experience in root cause analysis.
  • Troubleshooting a coordination outsourcing activity.
  • Uses best practices and knowledge of internal or external business issues to improve products or services.
  • Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective using existing solutions. Works independently, receives minimal guidance.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
  • Other Requirements: This position may require standing, walking, working in tight spaces, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, reaching, lifting, the ability to distinguish between colors, the ability to work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise, and the use of hand and power tools. 30%
     

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Develops, implements, and maintains methods, operation sequence and processes in the fabrication of parts, components, sub-assemblies, and final assemblies. Leads manufacturing engineering related projects as required.
  • Interfaces with other engineering functions to coordinate the release of product improvements and/or new products.
  • Drives manufacturing engineering ePLC deliverables.
  • Launches, releases, approves, and implements or issues engineering change requests as required to support design engineering and floor with new and existing products.
  • Estimates manufacturing cost determines time standards and makes recommendations for tooling and process requirements.
  • Leads team in the use of DFx principles to reduce product costs and improve delivered product quality.
  • Develops and uses test procedures, including assisting with the definition of test specifications with design / software engineering. May work with test engineering on the design and development of text fixtures. May assist in the coordination of test fixture sourcing activities.
  • Determines root cause analysis for issues that arise during assembly and/or test of systems; drives correction actions; provides failure analysis report as required.
  • Evaluates work methods, procedures, and policies. Develops and maintains new business processes; edits as necessary to ensure current practices are documented. Mentors and trains lower-level engineers.
  • Must coordinate outsourcing activities with external / internal suppliers and pay particular attention to cost and cost reduction / mitigation strategies.
  • Performs Process Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis when working with New Product Development.
