POSITION SUMMARY:

Manages the centralized Medicaid and Medicare billing and collections operations with the goal to:
* Reduce Initial Billing Error Rate
* Ensure Quality of Bills Produced Prior to formal bill submission
* Improve Total Clean Claims post follow-up correction
* Reduce DSO and improve DSO Target Ratio

Directly manages team of Sr. Specialists. With the assistance of Supervisor or Team Leader, manages team of Specialists.

Assures compliance with Policies - Procedures.

Serves as a member of CBO Management Team.


RESPONSIBILITIES/ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Monitor billing processes and schedule.
2. Provide hands-on management to governmental billing and collections team.
3. Communicate business goals and motivates staff to assure success.
4. Manage staff performance, conduct performance review, and take appropriate action.
5. Interview all candidates and make hiring decision.
6. Remove roadblocks to assure timely, accurate, and complete billing submissions.
7. Ensure communication with Center Staff, Field Staff, peer Managers for the purpose of optimizing performance
8. Recommend and implement improvement in the process.
9. Assure timely and complete submission of all Medicare Reimbursable Bad Debt entries (Medicaid Secondary).
10. Escalate issues beyond span of control to Director, CBO.
11. Demonstrates care and compassion to ensure that all internal and external customers consistently receive the highest quality of service.
12. Shows respect and appreciation to others.

Qualifications:

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL/VOCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:1. College Degree or 10 + years experience in Long Term Care or Healthcare billing and collections.2. Experience using computers and billing software systems.3. Strong communications and interpersonal skills.4. Ability to prioritize, organize, trouble-shoot and problem solve.
