Job Description

Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, The primary function of the Maintenance Technician is to perform scheduled preventative and unscheduled corrective maintenance activities for the Maintenance and Facilities department at the New England facilities. This work will be performed in accordance with Veranova’s guidelines and procedures while documenting all work performed in the organizations asset management database.

Key Responsibilities / Accountabilities

  • Perform required Preventative Maintenance in a timely fashion to ensure that the organization is compliant with all procedures and guidelines.
  • Perform any Corrective Maintenance activities regarding the upkeep of systems and facilities.
    • General Building Maintenance
    • Equipment repairs
    • Equipment relocations
  • Minimize process downtime due to equipment or part failures by evaluating the overall state of equipment and making recommendations for repairs/replacements.
  • Support organizational departments with Facilities/Maintenance needs as required.
  • Ensure all job-related training is completed on-time.
  • Supervise outside contractors that perform work at the New England facilities.
  • Follow all safety procedures and guidelines in the performance of work at the site:
    • Lock Out/Tag Out
    • Work Permits
    • Job Hazard Analysis
  • Document all work performed via the organizations asset management database following cGMP guidelines.
  • May perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required. Associates degree in a technical field or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Must have minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in a maintenance technician role.
  • Experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing, chemical, or related industry, and experience in a GMP environment strongly preferred.
  • A strong safety mindset is paramount.
  • Must be able to physically climb ladders and work from heights.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Must be able to wear various types of respirators, protective clothing, required PPE.
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems such as Blue Mountain RAM preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills are needed.
  • Self-starter with the capability to work independently and in a team environment is a must.
