Summary:

This position produces complex machined parts and components by programming, setting up, and operating computer numerical control (CNC), vertical mills, lathes, and traditional conventional machines. Requires the ability and skills to build, repair and maintain stamping press tools. Requires the ability to reverse engineer components that may not be available for purchase anymore.

Essential Functions:

  • Perform a variety of duties involving mechanical repair, maintenance and service on production equipment and the facility.
  • Diagnose problems, disassemble, determine extent of repairs necessary and repair, refit, or replace parts. Repair and maintain a variety of production equipment and building equipment such as lathes, drill presses, grinders, hand power tools, compressors.
  • Complete the fabrication of parts and equipment for prototype or production equipment and plant/facility needs.
  • Work from machine prints, written and/or verbal instructions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance as required. Maintain quality and safety standards and maintains supplies and equipment.
  • Respond to service calls from production operators. Maintain machine shop equipment and tools in good working order.
  • Assist maintenance mechanics on jobs and projects.
  • Assist engineers with fabrication of new equipment and machinery.
  • Keep accurate paperwork on jobs.
  • Receive direction from the Maintenance Supervisor/Engineer.
  • Perform all work in a safe manner, to include proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain a clean safe work area.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, S.O.P.'s and safety rules.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

Five (5) years minimum with machine/metal-working equipment plus two (2) years ' experience with electrical and machine repair. Knowledge and proper use of hand, power, and electronic tools.
