We are looking for an LTL Account Manager to join our team!  The primary responsibility is to develop and increase profitable volume with existing and newly acquired LTL customers.  This position requires a great deal of independent thought, organization, analytic skills and strong communication. You will

  • Be responsible for developing and increasing profitable volume with existing and newly acquired customers and internal offices
  • Build relationships with existing and new accounts / offices
  • Use strong relationships to understand customer’s business in order to provide solutions
  • Maintain and increase ALC’s image and reliability with customers
  • Provide exceptional, prompt customer service internally and externally
  • Prospect for new shippers
  • Build and trace loads
  • Update customers with critical information, etc.
  • Answer phones and distribute calls to the appropriate party
  • Confirm loads and carrier invoice match, checking for carrier billing errors
  • Process Exceptions between ALC and carrier invoice differences
  • Process carrier invoices
  • Work with carriers to resolve carrier A/P issues
  • Complete ALC system training as required

Skills and Experience

  • 3 year minimum in LTL freight brokerage
  • College degree highly desired or equivalent experience
  • Self-motivated, enthusiastic team player who excels in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent and effective communication skills
  • Strong customer service orientation and excellent work ethic
  • Ability to quickly process information and make decisions
  • Effective negotiation and problem-solving skills, and ability to handle conflict
  • Excellent time-management skills with the ability to multitask
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
