Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
FLSA Employment Status: Non-exempt / Hourly
Sign-On Bonus: $5,000
Job Summary:
Positioned under the supervision of a licensed physician and registered nurse, the LPN becomes a cornerstone in delivering top-notch patient care. You will perform an array of technical nursing tasks while educating individuals about the hospital's programs and services.
Reporting Structure:
Directly reports to the Nurse Manager or Nurse Director.
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited LPN program
  • Minimum of one (1) year LPN experience in a hospital or nursing home environment preferred
  • Unrestricted Tennessee State Licensed Practical Nurse
  • V. Certification
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association

Essential Functions:
Nursing/Patient Care:
  • Provide quality, safe, compassionate and empathetic nursing care
  • Administer medications and intravenous fluids in line with patients' charts
  • Perform basic patient care tasks, such as temperature and blood pressure measurements
  • Interview patients to obtain medical history and immunization status
  • Observe and report changes in patient conditions
  • Maintain patient charts, administer immunizations, and prepare oral reports
Quality/Safety:
  • Promote a culture of safety through proper identification, reporting, and documentation
  • Adhere to infection-control and waste management protocols
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement activities
  • Comply with professional standards, hospital policies, and all regulatory requirements
Other Duties:
  • Equipment cleaning and maintenance
  • Materials and equipment preparation
  • Community engagement to enhance public understanding of health services
Physical Demands:
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 40 pounds
  • Corrected vision and hearing required
  • Possible exposure to infectious and contagious diseases
  • Ability to perform effectively in stressful, fast-paced environments
  • Must pass all required health and other screenings, including drug tests
