As the Logistics Manager with our Waukegan Division, you'll be directly responsible for managing the day-to-day functions of our Logistics team ensuring team members meet client satisfaction needs through quality and budget control. The Logistics Manager also plays a crucial role in overseeing the transportation efforts of all show services, logistics, timely billing and program maintenance! Logistics Manager Responsibilities
  • Oversee and direct work activities of the Logistics department while mentoring and coaching staff
  • Accountable for managing department's budget & providing financial reporting on any account variances
  • Assist sales staff with regional programs & show services planning. This includes overseeing the preparation of on-site show services packages for clients and show-site supervisors
  • Investigate / assist AP in resolving freight invoices issues / assist in negotiating transportation contracts
  • Crosstrain staff to ensure proper coverage in Show Services and Portable Programs
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizations policies and applicable laws, to include:
    • Conduct performance reviews with staff
    • Review daily time cards & approve accordingly
    • Approve vacation requests
    • Work with HR on employee relations matters
    • Provide daily mentoring and coaching with staff
  • Utilize advanced Microsoft Office skills to maintain organization within department and position
  • Remain highly organized and flexible while working necessary times in fast-paced deadline driven environment
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements
Logistics Manager Requirements & Qualifications
  • Associates / Bachelors degree with relevant experience required.
  • 5 + years management experience & 3 + years transportation experience.
  • Knowledge of Billing and General Accounting principles.
  • Previous trade show and/or event industry experience preferred.
