Seeking a Qualified and Experienced Vascular Surgeon
Are you a dedicated and highly skilled Vascular Surgeon passionate about providing advanced vascular care? We're searching for a qualified physician to join our team in a growing community near Whitmire, SC. This ongoing locum tenens opportunity offers a night shift schedule (5:00 pm - 7:00 am) with call requirements to be determined (TBD), starting as soon as possible (ASAP).
Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive inpatient care to adult patients with a variety of vascular conditions, including peripheral arterial disease, venous insufficiency, and aortic disease.
  • Work collaboratively with referring physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement effective treatment plans.
  • Perform a variety of open and endovascular surgical procedures in a well-equipped operating room setting (number of operating rooms not specified).
  • Manage postoperative care for patients undergoing vascular surgery, ensuring optimal recovery and monitoring for potential complications.
  • Participate in call coverage, responding to urgent vascular surgery needs outside of regular shift hours (specific call schedule details to be determined).
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records within the EPIC electronic medical record system.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in vascular surgery and participate in ongoing professional development activities.
Qualifications:
  • Active or, for qualifying candidates, actively pursuing a South Carolina (SC) medical license and a valid DEA registration is required.
  • Board certification in Vascular Surgery is mandatory.
  • Current certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is required.
  • Completion of a Vascular Surgery Fellowship is mandatory.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a clinical vascular surgery setting is preferred.
  • Strong clinical judgment, decision-making skills, and a comprehensive knowledge base in vascular surgery.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients, families, and healthcare teams in a high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to providing compassionate and high-quality patient care.
