Position Summary
The Life Equity Loan Relationship Manager is responsible for managing and maintaining advisor and client borrowing relationships. This position is responsible for the development of new and existing LEL business through calling programs, networking, and agency/group presentations. In addition, the Relationship Manager is responsible for managing his/her current loan portfolio with assistance from LEL Portfolio Managers. This position will report to the LEL Relationship Manager Team Lead.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop new business and prospects and generate LEL loans through referrals, business calls, and life insurance agency visits/presentations.
  • Explain LEL advantages to prospective advisors and clients through application.
  • Analyze customers' financial data, asset values, and structure to negotiate credit transactions and perform ongoing credit management.
  • Service existing customer relationships to maximize profitability.
  • Update LEL Relationship Manager Team Lead and LEL President of ongoing sales pipeline and business development plan
  • Pursue repayment of loans and contact customers whose loans are past due or have overdrawn accounts.
  • Act as trainer/coach for Portfolio Managers
  • Assist other lines of business with business development including but not limited to deposit accounts, mortgages, and prospective commercial clients.
Education & Experience
  • Knowledge of:
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Strong sales and customer service skills
    • Cash value and/or security lending
  • Ability to:
    • Generate new loan growth with attainable goals
    • Analyze and interpret numerical data
    • Analyze and solve problems of a complex nature and make decisions based on a wide knowledge of many factors where application of advanced technical concepts is required for which there are not precedents
    • Make independent and difficult decisions within parameters of the Bank's loan policies
    • Originate new procedures and approaches to problems
    • Perform duties under frequent time pressures
  • Education and Training:
    • Requires Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
    • Requires 2 or more years of banking, finance, or sales related experience.
    • Six months or more credit analysis experience required.
    • Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office.
