Description & Requirements
We are seeking a webMethods Administrator/Developer to join our team to support our Internal Revenue Service (IRS) client. The webMethods Admin/Developer uses their webMethods knowledge to support the webMethods production environment and infrastructure, and the team developing interfaces. The candidate will be required to attend IRS technical meetings, provide on-call support and be the first line of response for high priority incident tickets. The candidate will work across the enterprise to coordinate with the various stakeholders.
Location of work is remote in US. Candidates will ideally be within driving distance to IRS Federal Buildings in Austin, TX, Farmers Branch, TX or Lanham, MD. Local candidates may attend meetings occasionally at the IRS facility.
PROJECT SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Responsible for day-to-day hands on development and administration activities related to support and operation of the webMethods based interfaces and infrastructure
- Monitor AppDynamics/ELK/webMethods dashboard for health violations, creating new dashboards as needed to proactively monitor production environment and activity
- Triage incident tickets, take action to provide proactive response and minimize/reduce P1/P2 incidents
- Revise/enhance/innovate in response to lessons learned from incident tickets working with the development team to collaboratively implement improvements
- Work with program Subject Matter Experts to update high level architecture diagrams for critical systems that are part of the API Gateway/Enterprise Service Bus
- Participate in daily scrum meetings and weekly team meetings, Sprint planning and story development estimation
- Script manual steps using ANT/SHELL/PYTHON (or any scripting language)
PROJECT SPECIFIC MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required; an additional four (4) years of related work experience can substitute for a degree
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience required
- webMethods development and/or administration experience required, 10.x preferred
- webMethods Integration Server (IS)/Universal Messaging (UM) experience
- Flow/Java Services/Standard webMethods Adapter Development experience
- XML/SCHEMA and webMethods web services development experience
- Experience working with the webMethods suite for multiple projects and clients
- Ideally experience working with API Management Platform from SoftwareAG; API Portal, API Gateway and API Governance
- Experience with the upgrade activities with webMethods suite of products from one version to other
- webMethods products installation experience in Linux/Unix
- Working knowledge of industry security best practices
- Strong communication skills and able to work across organizations
- Ability to perform complex tasks with minimal supervision and guidance
- Ability to work well independently or in a team setting
PROJECT PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- IRS Project experience
- CI/CD setup for the webMethods suite products
- Experience with Centrasite Registry/Repository and Design time governance
- Working knowledge of Java/J2EE development technologies
- Strong Linux/Unix experience
- Trading Networks experience
- Script manual steps using ANT/SHELL/PYTHON (or any scripting language)
- Jenkins, Github, Ansible experience
Additional Requirements as per Contract:
- Candidates must have held an active IRS MBI clearance within the last 2 years to qualify
- Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for 3 years, and be Federal Tax compliant
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, debug, implement, and document moderately complex software programs
- Research and analyze existing systems and program requirements
- Resolve production support problems.
- Conduct quality assurance activities such as peer reviews.

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience.
