Licensed Physical Therapist

SUMMARY

The licensed physical therapist is responsible for conducting patient assessments, developing care plans, administering treatment, and supervising physical therapy assistants. This role requires adherence to professional standards and hospital policies, as well as participation in patient coverage efforts as needed. Travel to different locations may be required, and weekend rotations may be part of the schedule.

DEPARTMENT: Physical Therapy

SCHEDULE: 7.5 hour shift

ATTRIBUTES

  • Required: Active and clear NYS PT license or temporary permit following NYS Practice Act guidelines
  • Required: BLS (current or scheduled)
  • Required: Master's Degree in Physical Therapy as of 8/12
  • Preferred: Minimum of 1 year of post-licensure practice as a Physical Therapist

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct patient evaluations and establish treatment plans and home programs
  • Administer patient treatment plan, monitor progress, and modify treatment plan as necessary
  • Coordinate with physicians and other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in education, training, and development activities

EDUCATION:
Master's Degree in Physical Therapy as of 8/12

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS: Active and clear NYS PT license or temporary permit

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $39.00 - $52.00
