Visiting Scholar

The Department of Surgery, Division of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery at the University of Pittsburgh seeks a Visiting Scholar to work in the research program directed by Dr. Qingde Wang. This is an exciting opportunity for a hard-working research scholar who is a highly self-motivated individual.

Job description: The successful applicant will have a strong background in bench research and experimental design. The applicant will be required to make a contribution to NIH-supported research projects, including the role and mechanisms of ADAR1-regulated innate immune activation in neuroinflammation and autoimmune diseases, and explore therapeutic strategies of small molecule and gene therapeutic approaches.

Requirements: Candidates should possess an M.D./PhD degree. They should have the ability to work collaboratively and be interested in working with individuals from many different backgrounds, including clinicians and basic scientists. Candidates should also have an effective command of the English Language and evidence of effective writing and interpersonal skills.
