Legal Billing Assistant - Bookkeeper

<strong>Job Description:</strong><br><br>We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Legal Billing Assistant to join our team on a temporary basis. This hybrid role requires working 3-4 days per week in our Paramus, NJ office. The primary function of the Legal Billing Assistant is to collaborate closely with in-house attorneys, paralegals, and finance staff to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of the billing process.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong><br><ul><li>Perform the billing process accurately and in a timely manner.</li><li>Resolve open balances promptly.</li><li>Ensure costs remain within the requisite budgets by coordinating budget information with accounting and finance professionals across multiple business units.</li><li>Prepare monthly accruals accurately.</li><li>Ensure rate sheets are approved timely.</li><li>Provide necessary support to external auditors on Legal Department accounting matters.</li><li>Perform other tasks as directed by the Senior Director, Legal Operations.</li></ul><br><strong>Required Skills:</strong><br><ul><li>Knowledge of electronic billing platforms, with experience in Thomson Reuters Legal Tracker being a plus.</li><li>Ability to produce and understand data analytics is a plus.</li><li>Maintain confidentiality at all times.</li><li>Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.</li><li>Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.</li><li>Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel, and Google Workspace (Google Docs and Sheets).</li><li>Ability to work independently, under pressure, and meet deadlines.</li><li>Sound judgment and discretion in decision-making.</li><li>Effective interfacing with all levels of management.</li><li>Strong ability to prioritize multiple work assignments.</li><li>Team player with a collaborative mindset.</li></ul><br><strong>Experience:</strong><br><ul><li>3-5 years of billing experience, preferably in the legal field.</li></ul>
