Lead Foam Extrusion Technician

Location: Tarboro, NC<br> <br>Pay: $25-$29/hour depending on experience<br> <br>This is a full time, direct hire role that is looking to move quickly!<br> <br> <strong>ALL CANDIDATES MUST HAVE FOAM EXTRUSION EXPERIENCE!</strong> <br> <br>Hours: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm.<br> <br>Summary:<br> <br>The Extrusion Technical Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of extrusion machinery by performing setup, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance activities along with running operations. The individual in this role will use a keen eye for detail, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to minimize downtime. <br> <br>Essential Duties & Responsibilities<br> <br>* Demonstrate the Core Values of Comfort Research in daily actions, execution of tasks, and interactions with others.<br> <br>* Configure and set up extrusion machinery for production runs according to established protocols and specifications.<br> <br>* Collaborate with extrusion cell team leader to understand specific production plan and to ensure equipment readiness.<br> <br>* Execute routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubrication, and daily assessment of worn or damaged components.<br> <br>* Work closely with maintenance personnel to address equipment breakdowns and implement preventive maintenance schedules.<br> <br>* Own the timely and effective startup, production, and shutdown of machines daily.<br> <br>* Monitor and assess product quality during setup and production runs, making necessary adjustments to meet quality standards.<br> <br>* Ensure production output targets in conjunction with entire extrusion cell needs.<br> <br>Work hand in hand with quality / engineering teams to implement corrective actions and prevent defects.<br> <br>* Identify and resolve issues related to equipment malfunctions, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining optimal production efficiency.<br> <br>* Provide detailed reports on equipment performance, issues encountered, and resolutions implemented.<br> <br>* Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, offering insights and suggestions to enhance efficiency, safety, and overall equipment performance.<br> <br>* Stay on top of industry trends and possibly advancements in extrusion processes. <br> <br>Job Requirements<br> <br>* High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or relevant education is a plus.<br> <br>* Five years' experience in manufacturing environment, including 2-3 years collectively in leadership, machine operations, working with production entry, set up & changeover, and quality checks.<br> <br>* Proven experience as a setup technician in an extrusion manufacturing environment.<br> <br>* Strong troubleshooting skills with a track record of effectively addressing machinery issues.<br> <br>* In-depth knowledge of extrusion processes, equipment, and related technologies.<br> <br>* Familiarity with control systems, sensors, and other automation components.<br> <br>* Possess and demonstrates aptitude for mechanical, electrical, machine controls, and gas injection systems.<br> <br>* Ability to analyze complex problems, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.<br> <br>Strong attention to detail and precision in executing setup procedures<br> <br>* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with cross-functional teams.<br> <br>* Ability to provide clear and concise reports on troubleshooting activities.<br> <br>* Commitment to adhering to safety protocols and promoting a safe working environment. <br> <br>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, national origin, age, ancestry, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, marital status, disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, or military or veteran status.
