Summary
Bellewood & Brooklawn is seeking a compassionate and experienced Registered Dietitian to help us provide quality services for our children. The Dietitian will be responsible for providing nutritional care and guidance to our pediatric and adolescent clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the nutritional needs of individuals with psychiatric and behavioral health conditions and will work closely with our medical and therapeutic teams to support the overall well-being of our clients.
Key Responsibilities
  • Nutritional Assessment: Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments for new and existing clients, considering their medical history, medications, and specific behavioral health conditions.
  • Individualized Care Plans: Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nutrition care plans tailored to the unique needs of each client, adjusting recommendations as necessary based on progress and changes in condition.
  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other members of the healthcare team to integrate nutritional care into the overall treatment plan.
  • Education: Provide education and counseling to clients, families, and caregivers on proper nutrition, special diets, and healthy eating habits to support recovery and overall health.
  • Menu Planning: Oversee the development and implementation of meal plans that meet the nutritional needs of clients, adhering to dietary restrictions and preferences.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of client assessments, care plans, and progress notes in accordance with facility policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations, as well as facility policies related to food service and nutritional care.
  • Training: Provide training and support to staff members on nutrition-related topics and dietary protocols.
  • Research & Development: Stay current with the latest research and developments in the field of nutrition and dietary management, particularly as they relate to psychiatric and behavioral health.
Requirements
Qualifications
Education & Licenses -
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • Current Registered Dietitian (RD) credential through the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR).
  • Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist (LDN) in [State], if applicable.
Experience -
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a clinical or behavioral health setting, with a focus on pediatric or adolescent populations preferred.
Other Information -
  • Strong knowledge of dietary management for psychiatric and behavioral health conditions.
  • This position may involve exposure to clients with various health conditions.
  • The Dietitian will primarily work in an office clinical setting, or virtually, with some duties performed in kitchen areas or dining facilities.
  • One day a week (Virtual or in person)
