Many of their employees have enjoyed working for the greater part of their careers; they have many employees with 20, 25, 30, even 35 years of service and they currently have an opening for a Journey Electrician based out of their location in Port Townsend. As a journeyman electrician, you will perform scheduled tasks & maintain their mill equipment. What you will be doing:
  • Perform maintenance on mill equipment as scheduled.
  • Troubleshoot mill systems & equipment as needed.
  • Installation of new & rebuilt equipment.
  • Perform inspections & preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Share the load of overtime & call-ins as needed.
  • Training apprentices & other journeymen.
What you must have:
  • High school graduate or equivalent to (GED).
  • Up to 2 years post-graduate schooling in some crafts. Completed apprenticeship program in craft line or equivalent experience
  • 5 years in trade or 2 years at trade level
  • Craft level skills, equipment-specific knowledge, proper handling procedures for chemical common to pulp & paper process.
  • A basic level of skills in processes that may be outside of the primary craft’s core competency including cutting, metalworking, computer operation, rigging, and other skills common to maintenance activities.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, troubleshoot electrical equipment including motors and controllers.
  • Ability to work and communicate within a small work team.
  • Ability to lift and carry 40 pounds.
  • Ability to push and pull rolling carts with several hundred-pound loads.
  • Ability to twist and turn while executing the job.
  • Ability to work in awkward positions
