Job Summary:   The IT Systems Support Functional Specialist is responsible for all aspects of Tier 1 and Tier 2 functional applications and system functional support and minor technical assistance. This individual must address a wide variety of user issues and will act as the “go-to” person for the maintenance of and use of Hormann applications – particularly SAP, WMS, and other proprietary applications. This techno-functional person will provide day-to-day support for the manufacturing facility, sales centers, and customers.


Major Responsibilities/Activities:

  • Test interfaces, upgrades, changes, and enhancements to existing SAP systems.
  • Monitor the system and perform issue corrections to proactively address problems and ensure manufacturing and sales optimum performance within the system.
  • Train end-users in the proper use of SAP, WMS, and other related/integrated systems.
  • Respond to, troubleshoot, monitor, and diagnose application and system problems to enable the business to function optimally.
  • Document changes in business processes and communicate to the core team.
  • Develop and initiate production-planning schedules and job files.
  • Ensure the availability of materials before work-order is released.
  • Implement/maintain an accurate schedule using SAP or other ERP systems.
  • Identify and resolve inventory discrepancies, manage, and maintain a cycle counting process program.
  • Provide support to the shop floor personnel and operations as required, while also working hand-in-hand with production supervisors.
  • Coordination of material availability by working with the Purchasing Department to ensure that all necessary materials are available to support production demands.
  • Proactively communicate across the organization scheduling issues and opportunities to ensure deliveries are met and facility objectives are achieved.
  • Lead IT Application project implementation efforts at the local level.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, or one to three years of ERP experience (SAP highly desired) and/or training in the field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Medium competency in computer skills. Not afraid to learn new applications.
  • Previous manufacturing experience is highly valued. Knowledge of the Order-To-Cash process will serve you well.
  • Have the ability to work flexible hours when required to complete necessary job assignments.
  • Able to take charge, guide, and direct persons needing assistance.
  • US or Canadian citizen or permanent legal resident. Have a valid passport and be able to obtain necessary Visas for travel, if required.
  • Able to perform business analyses and system troubleshooting is required

  • Able to think outside the box and be able to not only follow directions but accept ownership of problems and issues to quickly and permanently correct.

This position is communication-oriented and will primarily use a computer and telephone to perform most work tasks. Various applications such as Microsoft products, ticket systems, SAP, etc.
