Job Purpose:
The Inventory Control Specialist is responsible for establishing and maintaining the parts inventory database and keeping the parts and manufacturing cost current in the system. The Inventory Control Specialist will collaborate with the Logistics Coordinator and communicate with all departments regarding price adjustments. This position reports to the Director of Manufacturing.


Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain parts database
  • Effective inventory management by implementing best practices
  • Establish and maintain cycle inventory management
  • Negotiate parts discounts with vendors and keep accurate records of pricing
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate with Sales team and Engineering Team
    • Compare and adjust stock levels with design standards
    • Synchronize pricing and part tools across departments
    • Assist with quotation requests
  • Balance production hours with parts availability
  • Assist with shipping scheduling for panel orders
  • Maintain accurate records of tasks and deliverables completion in NW systems
  • Suggest and implement continuous improvement in NW manufacturing systems


Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

  • Database Management
  • Excellent computer skills – proficiency with Excel
  • Strong knowledge of materials management, production processes, quality control, costs and other techniques for maximizing effective manufacturing
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Problem Solving – ability to identify problems, review related information, then develop and evaluate options and solutions
  • Detailed oriented with the ability to see the larger vision of projects and process
  • Understanding of electrical and/or automation systems and components preferred


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of an associate degree in Business or a related field of study
  • Relevant experience in a related field may be substituted for formal education


Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or a
    related field of study

Physical Abilities/Work Environment:
Includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Typing, communicating effectively, analyzing data, and organization
  • Viewing a computer and reading for significant amounts of time
  • Standing, walking, and lifting
  • Occasionally exerting up to 50 pounds


Electrical Safety Training Requirements:
This position is classified as Unqualified Personnel. Unqualified personnel are employees who may
tour plant facilities but cannot participate in startup activities, open any panels, and may have no
contact with equipment. Employees not classified as ‘Qualified’ are considered ‘Unqualified’ and must
complete required HSI Training during employment orientation. Supervisors can
require that an individual achieve a higher tier than is listed for the job title. Training must be
completed before an individual can perform the approved activities for this tier.
