SUMMARY :


Responsible for maintaining inventory control in the Quick Mart and processing all merchandise, complimentaries and transfers of merchandise for special events, promotions and/or donations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: This list of tasks is illustrative ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by positions in this class.   • Receives merchandise shipments from Vendors, verifying that the appropriate merchandise is received in good, saleable condition.

  • Prices merchandise, and enters it into Inventory Records.

  • Generates Daily Sales Report, Merchandise Quantity-on-Hand Report, Accounts Receivable Report, and Departmental Complimentary Report, and presents them to the Director of The Quick Mart on a regular basis.

  • Ensures that merchandise is accurately inventoried and displayed to its' best advantage.

  • Assists the Accounts Payable Department, when necessary, to verify that bills from Vendors correspond to merchandise received.

  • Held accountable, to a high degree, for the thoroughness and accuracy of departmental records.

  • Promotes a maximum level of customer service and satisfaction in the department.

  • Performs customer-service-related duties, such as assisting customers with merchandise selection and/or purchase.

  • Creatively resolves problems in the area of Inventory Control.

  • Maintains a working knowledge of current and upcoming events on property, in order to advise customers and fellow Employees of same, whenever possible.

  • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High School diploma or GED required. Three to five years of retail experience with progressively increasing supervisory responsibility required.

SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be computer-literate, and be able to operate a pricing label printer, calculator, copy machine, fax machine and laser printer.


LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers and/or Employees.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.


REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
