JOB PURPOSE:

Boyer Trucks is looking for a Human Resources Generalist to be a key contributor to the Boyer Trucks HR, Recruiting, Learning, and Payroll team in St. Michael, MN. The HR Generalist participates in many areas of our operation, included but not limited to benefits, workers compensation, unemployment, payroll, safety, training, OSHA 300 Reporting, compensation analysis, ACA and so much more!

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide support for the Human Resources Manager.
Work closely with Recruiting; to successfully onboard new hires. This includes personnel file set up, company introductions, benefit enrollment, and all aspects of onboarding a new team member.
Input and analyze data to file Affirmative Action, EEO-1, and Vet 100 reports annually; maintain other records, reports, and logs to conform to EEO and OFCCP regulations.
Coordinates orientation and employees welcome emails.
Coordinate new hire orientation, as needed.
Complete employment verification requests.
Respond to unemployment inquiries and workers compensation reporting, as well as assist with OSHA Logs, as needed.
Answer and screen phone calls, as needed.
Administer the performance appraisal process on a monthly basis.
Maintain all filing, as needed (HR, Benefit, DOT, and Workers Comp).
Backup for company payroll.
Monthly newsletter on behalf of the department.
Follow up on benefit enrollment.
Generate HR and payroll reports as requested and distribution to proper individuals.
Participate in process documentation and ongoing updates.
Collaborate with team members in developing and publishing training content for the organization learning management system.
Manage response to Public Health Emergencies (ie COVID), as needed.
Support department objectives, including but not limited to, digitizing employee records
Consult with managers and employees to provide HR support, address questions and concerns by interpreting company policies

Additional duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

Requires sitting, standing, balancing, bending or stooping for prolonged periods of time.
Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.
Requires normal range of hearing and vision to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.
Requires working in a fast-paced environment.
Requires the ability to occasional travel to local business locations, during business hours, about 5-10% of the time.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Driver's License and MVR in good standing.
Must have basic knowledge and understanding of human resource administration, benefit plan administration, payroll processing, and reporting.
Understanding of Paylocity, Paycom or another HRIS/payroll software system.
General understanding of benefit plans, medical, dental, life, disability, vision, 401(k), etc.
Exercise a high level of attention to detail and confidentiality, including abiding by all
HIPPA protection policies.
Ability to work with multiple priorities.
Sensitive to corporate needs and employee goodwill with the ability to work with all levels of employees.
Demonstrate superior communication skills in person, over the phone and through email and other electronic means.
Knowledge of COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, STD, ADA, and related state and federal regulations required.
Must be proficient Microsoft Office Suite of products, especially Excel
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong computer skills and the ability to learn HRIS system.
2 - 3 years working as an HR Assistant preferred.
2 3 years previous payroll experience preferred.

Ability to successfully complete a General Abilities Assessment and pass a post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
