Hospice Volunteers<br>Needed<br>North Woods Home Care<br>and Hospice is seeking<br>Hospice Volunteers<br>in the Manistique, Escanaba,<br>Iron Mountain and Munising areas.<br>Hospice volunteers play a vital role in providing<br>compassionate care and support to patients and their<br>families during the end-of-life journey.<br>Their contributions include:<br>Emotional Support: Volunteers offer companionship,<br>listen to patients' stories, and provide a comforting<br>presence. This helps reduce feelings of loneliness<br>and isolation.<br>Respite Care: By spending time with patients, volunteers<br>give primary caregivers a much-needed break, allowing<br>them to rest and attend to other responsibilities.<br>Practical Assistance: Volunteers may help with daily<br>tasks such as running errands, preparing meals, or light<br>housekeeping, easing the burden on families.<br>Advocacy and Liaison: They can assist in<br>communicating patients' needs and preferences to the<br>medical team, ensuring that the care provided aligns with<br>the patients' wishes.<br>Bereavement Support: After a patient's passing,<br>volunteers often continue to support families through<br>grief, offering a listening ear and helping them navigate<br>the bereavement process.
