Job Title: Electrical EngineerJob Description Summary: We are looking for an Electrical Engineer/Designer with 10 years of experience to join our technical engineering team. You will report directly to the Electrical Design Supervisor and work closely with office personnel, plant personnel, Project Managers, and other disciplines to develop and modify electrical designs. Your responsibilities will include performing calculations, creating/modifying drawings, writing scopes of work, coordinating with outside contractors and vendors, and making visits to plants as needed. Additionally, you will write specifications, develop preliminary designs, MTO's, and man-hour estimates. Responsibilities: - Design and/or specification of equipment and processes - Provide technical input for engineering design - Review and approve engineering drawings and plans - Collaborate with other engineering disciplines on multi-discipline projects - Work as a key part of a project team to meet project objectives - Ensure compatibility with plant equipment and procedures - Develop project scope and mentor less experienced engineers/designers - Adhere to safety values and practices in all designs and plant modifications - Lead and provide technical input to 3rd party engineering design firms - Utilize department resources, experience, and existing engineering designs - Provide troubleshooting and technical assistance to manufacturing plants - Meet schedule and budget commitments - Contribute labor and material quantities for capital project cost estimates Hard Skills Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering 10 years of industrial electrical design experience Proficient in electrical CAD design (AutoCAD, Draftsight) Experience with Low Voltage, Medium Voltage designs (MCC and down, i.e., 480V and lower) Ability to prepare MCC, VFD, and IO/PLC components equipment specifications Ability to work in the field with no supervision Ability to supervise engineers Ability to travel 20% of the time Soft Skills Collaboration Technical input Mentorship Troubleshooting Schedule and budget management Job Type This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 12 Month(s). Work Site This is a fully remote position. Work Environment Headquartered in Chicago, we serve construction markets globally with products for wall, ceiling, flooring, sheathing, and roofing. Hours are 8 AM - 5 PM. This opportunity is temporarily fully remote, but candidates must be local to Chicago as there will be office needs.
