Job Description

The

Shift Supervisor, Coaters

will provide coater department leadership on rotating shifts by supervising crews of up to 20 people in two separate buildings. This position will focus on ensuring effective operations 24/7 with regards to safety, quality, productivity, and cost. Setting clear expectations, ensuring effective and efficient learning/training, and ensuring each person has the opportunity to perform to their best is paramount. This position will provide relief for the day supervisor.

Essential Duties and Specific Responsibilities:

•Support troubleshooting of crews through validating TCC (trouble/cause/correction) usage by crews and following CARPs (corrective action and response plans).

•Validating that all procedures are being followed appropriately and provide feedback/coaching on gaps

•Ensuring rapid response to operational challenges including following communication escalation protocols to heighten priority.

•Creating and implementing "When Down Do Lists" when downtime opportunities present themselves to maximize productive time.

•Improve overall operations through generating and implementing improvements in processes, equipment, training, etc.

•Validating operator basic care rounds are followed and effective addressing any findings and/or performance issues.

•Completing shift logs highlighting safety, environmental, training, quality, productivity, scheduling, cost, and other issues Building crew schedules enabling effective operations while balancing employee requests including responding to last minute vacancies/changes.

•Investigating, resolving, and reporting all safety incidents including injuries, near misses, observations, etc.

•Leading crew safety meetings.

Qualifications

• Experience

- 3 to 8 years of experience in manufacturing with paper, converting, or coating industry preferred. Previous supervisory experience a must, preferably in a union environment.

• Competencies

- Strong leadership skills, troubleshooting skills, sound communication skills, highly motivated, team player, and accountable for results.

• Education

- B.S. degree or equivalent in operational experience.
