Position Overview

As a member of the Business Development Team, contribute to the growth of RGA by being the external face of the company, effectively managing a portfolio of clients, directing client strategy and delivering agreed solutions, products and services for traditional and non-traditional reinsurance solutions .

Work with the Client & Marketing Services Team to strategize, plan and implement efficient business development support foundation and structure to drive business strategy and growth.

Interface, communicate, collaborate and ensure timely, accurate, and efficient service and follow up to external (operating level to senior executive level) and internal clients.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain strong relationships with assigned clients across multiple levels and through frequent contact to drive profitable growth

Understand client business, needs and motivations in order to originate business opportunities and deliver solutions to meet both client's strategic needs and RGA's objectives

Positions RGA as the reinsurance partner of choice in structured and strategic reinsurance matters.

Together with a cross functional team, develop and execute client/RGA mutual strategic engagement plans

Lead the processes of business development and supporting clients through interaction with the various experts in pricing, underwriting, business initiatives, operations, R&D, inforce management, US Financial Solutions and global teams to facilitate completion of traditional and non-traditional reinsurance transactions and fee-based solutions

Contribute to, and support, C-level meetings with clients

Identify, document and ensure timely follow through on items resulting from interactions with the client and internal meetings

Contribute to the development of USIL marketing strategies and market research including the development of sales materials, client value add services and communications

Analyze developments, changes and trends in the reinsurance/insurance markets, among competitors and customers

Attend industry conferences throughout the year as needed

Perform as an integral team member and go the extra mile when required

Commit to out servicing the competition as measured by industry surveys

Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Actuarial Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

10+ years of financial services or life/reinsurance sales experience

Strong computer based technical skills, including MS Office applications preferred

Knowledge of marketing principles, product and service management, sales and business development

Instinct for customer service

Ability to network and build relationships

Highly advanced oral and written communication skills, demonstrating the ability to convey business terminology that is meaningful and well received

Highly advanced investigative, analytical and problem-solving skills

Expert ability to balance detail with departmental goals/objectives

Advanced skills in customer relationship management and change management

Highly advanced ability to translate business needs and problems into viable/accepted solutions

Highly advanced ability to manage multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously

Highly advanced ability to make timely and effective decisions

Highly advanced ability to liaise with individuals across a wide variety of operational, functional, and technical disciplines

Highly advanced persuasion and negotiation skills when working with internal/external customers

Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department/team projects

Ability to travel extensively within the United States

Preferred:

FSA, CPA, or ASA accreditation

Master's Degree, MBA

FLMI, CLU certifications

5+ years of project management/project lead experience

Pay is based on a number of factors, including market, a candidate's skills, and experience commensurate with a role, etc. salary range: $171,220 - $254,960 + bonus.
