Job description
As a Scrum Master, you'll be a crucial leader in our agile delivery teams, working to drive the incremental delivery of value to our customers. You'll be responsible for facilitating Scrum events, coaching team members, removing roadblocks, and promoting a safe and sustainable work environment. To succeed in this role, you'll need to have a deep understanding of agile principles and performance excellent communication skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality products on time. You'll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, product owners, and stakeholders to achieve our goals and continuously improve our understanding and application of lean and agile principles. Lead and facilitate the agile development process and help teams continue to evolve their approach and reach their goals
Foster an environment where team members feel safe and appreciated and are working at a sustainable pace. Use the concepts of servant leadership in supporting their teams.
Collaborate with fellow Agilists to ensure teams embrace adoption of lean/agile principles and practices.
Support product owner(s) with intra-team dynamics with respect to priorities and scope.
Teach, mentor, facilitate, and coach teams to continuously improve while using the Scrum framework and lean/agile principles
Facilitate agile/scrum events such as daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint review, retrospectives, and PI Planning.
Facilitate the removal of roadblocks and obstacles for the team and insure transparency around risks, issues, and dependencies to relevant stakeholders and leadership.
Drive team iteration execution, communicate with leadership and stakeholders, and protect the team from scope creep. Work with teams to conduct effective retrospectives with actionable improvement items.
Maintain team data in project management software (i.e. JIRA) to support estimates and execution.
Develop, maintain, and present high-level project and team metrics to peers, stakeholders, and leadership.
Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 5 years project management experience with at least 3 years of experience managing projects in an agile environment required
  • Passionate commitment to delivering products on time required
  • Excellent communication skills including listening, verbal, written, facilitation and presentation skills; demonstrated experience summarizing technical efforts and how they align to business outcomes required
  • Deep understanding of agile management practices and the use of metrics (sprint burndown/burnup, velocity, cycle time, etc.)
