Location : BourbonnaisJob Type: Full-Time StaffDivision: Student DevelopmentDepartment: AthleticsOpening Date: 08/30/2024Position SummaryDevelop, coordinate and administer a comprehensive sports medical program for the Olivet Nazarene University intercollegiate sports programs. The head athletic trainer will also perform professional and administrative services essential for the successful implementation and development of the program.Olivet is a distinctly Nazarene institution of higher education and committed to the discipleship of our students within the Wesleyan-holiness tradition. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Develop overall sports medicine program for the University, including: injury prevention programs, injury evaluations, injury management, injury treatment and rehabilitation, educational programs and counseling for student-athletesProvide athletic training services for the University's athletic department, including attendance at scheduled team practices and home and away competitions as necessaryUpdate team rosters and track the collection of information for student athletes to be cleared for practice and competitionCoordinate medical referrals for student-athletes to determine their ability to practice and competeResponsible for the formation of the University's athletic training staff, including hiring, training and supervision of assistant/associate athletic trainers.Manage University's Secondary/Athletic Accident Insurance plan.Work in conjunction with the strength and conditioning staff to ensure safety in the design and implementation of fitness, nutrition and conditioning programs customized to meet individual student-athlete needsSchedule and coordinate athletic training staff and students for coverage of all team practices and athletic competitionsOversee development of the sports medical program budgetEvaluate and recommend new techniques and equipment that would enhance the benefit of the sports medical programRecord keeping and documentationGame management and supervision of Athletic Events as necessitated by Director of Athletics. Additional InformationEducation: Master's degree in accredited Athletic Training Program.Experience: 5-7 years professional experience.Certificate/License: Certified by the BOC, Illinois State Athletic Training Licensure, Familiarity with NAIA governing rules.
