JOB SUMMARY

Under direction, cooks, and serves food/beverages to customers while maintaining a neat and sanitary kitchen and dining area at all times.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Prepares all food items to order, following standardized recipes and procedures within specified time limits.
  • Preps assigned items.
  • Washes and cleans raw food products.
  • Minimizes waste of product.
  • Labels all food items for food safety and shelf-life standards.
  • Rotates product according to “First In, First Out” to maintain shelf-life standards.
  • Keeps the Grill Area neat, clean, and sanitary.
  • Cleans, organizes, and maintains refrigerator, reach-in refrigerator, cooler drawers, prep, and dry storage area.
  • Stocks/restocks items online, and orders according to specifications.
  • Understands and complies with food safety and temperature standards.
  • Tends bar and serves alcoholic beverages to customers 21 years and older.
  • Certifies and complies with all of the TIPS standards for serving alcohol.
  • Notifies a Manager immediately if a Guest has a complaint.
  • Required to work weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED; and
  • Two (2) years customer service and cash handling experience
  • Food service and bartending preferred

Licenses or Certifications

  • Must possess a valid state driver license upon employment
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain Food Managers Card through Coconino County.
  • Must be able to obtain a TIPS (or equivalent) certification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the policies, procedures and goals of the City of Page and the department.
  • Knowledge of Lake Powell National Golf Course Rules and Regulations.
  • Knowledge of basic golf etiquette.
  • Knowledge of tools, methods, and materials used in food and drink service.
  • Knowledge of basic cash handling.
  • Skill in dealing tactfully and effectively with the public.
  • Skill in the safe and lawful operation of all required equipment.
  • Ability to work well and communicate with all levels of personnel and the general public.
  • Ability to work as a team member and to organize and lead staff as a team.
  • Ability to operate all equipment necessary to perform the functions of the position.
  • Ability to use standard office equipment, computer equipment and software including word processing, data base management, spreadsheet applications and electronic mail.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions from others.
  • Ability to resolve problems.
  • Ability to work in a variety of adverse weather conditions, including heat, cold, precipitation, and wind.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, or flexible schedules.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to lift, push, pull or carry up to 50 pounds, sit, stand, walk, walk on uneven or slippery surfaces, kneel, squat, stoop, bend, reach, turn, climb, crawl, listen, and use hands and fingers. The employee must demonstrate the ability to remain calm during routine and stressful conditions. The employee is also required to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work requires decision making that could lead to major community or organizational consequences if this position fails to make the appropriate decision at the time.
