Job Description

GTRI's Threat Applications Branch (TAB) in the Systems Development Division (SDD) within the Aerospace, Transportation, and Advanced Systems (ATAS) Laboratory seeks students with interests in RF engineering, test and evaluation, and radar systems for Spring 2025. Students will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the following areas:

  • Analog and digital circuit development and design
  • RF system design studies, test plans, and analysis
  • Generating cable and chassis level assembly drawings for various programs
  • Assisting in component selection and system design for various subsystems
  • Interfacing with various engineering teams for technical tasking
  • Documenting work of design, theory, and test in written and presentation form as part of a team

Required Minimum Qualifications

Student Assistant

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Must be registered for at least 6 credit hours with your university
  • 3.0 or higher cumulative GPA


Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong math skills and ability to learn complex engineering concepts
  • Experience with MATLAB and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with electromagnetic simulations tools such as HFSS
  • Working knowledge of circuit design tools
  • Understanding of basic electrical theory.
  • Experience with 1 or more programming languages
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas
  • Experience working in teams to accomplish tasks and meet mutual objectives

Due to our research contracts with the US federal government, candidates for this position are required to be US Citizens.

Clearance Type Required

Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain an active security clearance.
