Description

The Financial Analyst provides business critical insight and is responsible for financial and operational analysis as a member of the Corporate Finance Department. The successful person will be responsible for interpreting data, analyzing results using statistical techniques, provide ongoing reports and developing various scenario analyses that serve as the basis for recommendations for leaders of the business to draw from to make critical tactical and strategic decisions. Qualified applicants will be able to ensure timely completions of monthly reports and specialty projects.

The Financial Analyst will be based out of the corporate office in Oak Brook, IL and will report to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis in Oak Brook.

Primary Responsibilities/Accountabilities

Job Requirements:

Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources; identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets Locate and define new process improvement opportunities; develop and implement data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality Ensure financial data accuracy, integrity and consistency of information as well as create organized documentation of results and data sources used Develop financial models, forecasts and comparative performance analysis Prepare and coordinate the monthly variance analysis of actuals, plan and forecast. Translate analyses into easy-to-understand presentations and visualizations Design, build and maintain various management reporting models involving executive management, product and direct/indirect P&L reports Compile and distribute daily reports to management team; support the leadership team with regular financial reporting and metrics, as well as ad-hoc financial analysis as needed Partner effectively with numerous teams within the company (accounting, operations, branch, sales, etc.) to produce monthly, quarterly and annual budgets Support the finance and business teams with financial metrics and key business analysis Assist, as needed, in developing materials (reporting, metrics, presentations) for external communications to partners and the Board Perform research and analysis of financial and operational performance for comparable companies

Qualifications

Education:

Bachelor Degree in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or Economics Intermediate to Advanced expertise with Microsoft Excel is required (e.g. Pivot Tables, charting) Experience in a Manufacturing or distribution environment a plus

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree One (1) to three (3) years of progressive experience in financial planning analysis, accounting, or data analysis Previous experience with Concur, Vena Solutions, and/or Power BI VBA / Macro experience
