Linux System Administrator, Mid-Level,

to join our growing, diverse and dynamic team in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support for the Hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) THAAD simulation lab to include monitoring and updating.

Perform firmware updates, software updates, network configurations, and standing up new systems.

Installation, configuration, and maintenance of system hardware and software on multiple Linux platforms.

Provide support for systems and users during MDA test events.

Complete cybersecurity scans for the lab systems.

Provide troubleshooting support for hardware and software.

Manage user accounts on classified systems using multi-factor authentication, perform system backups and restores.

Develop Plans of Action & Mitigation (POA&M) to document deviations from approved DISA STIG requirements as required.

Ability to step through automating Operating System builds (Ansible).

Candidates will be required to travel for a portion of each year during Flight tests and other travel activities. This lab supports an independent test platform for the THAAD weapons system. Travel of 20%-30% is required for this position.

Minimum Qualifications & Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science, or a related field, from an accredited institution preferred. Equivalent experience may be substituted for degree.

5+ years of demonstrated Linux systems administration experience.

Large, classified lab networking and hardware knowledge.

Linux+ and Security+ certifications.

Strong Cybersecurity knowledge.

Demonstrated experience networking, security, and Linux.

Knowledge with a configuration management focus preferred.

THAAD Weapon System experience preferred.

U.S. Citizenship with Active Secret Security clearance required.

Physical Description

Employees in these positions will function in a general office/cubicle setting environment, laboratory/testing setting using standard office equipment and various electronic testing equipment, including a computer, telephone, printers, video equipment, computer software and testing equipment. Will interact in a general office setting environment with various personnel; participate in meetings and contribute to team success; deliver timely results and produce reports; receive and communicate information; may include telework. May function in a laboratory/testing environment using electronic testing equipment, computer software and complex systems. May move and test equipment of various weights. Laboratory environment may require use of protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to safety glasses and protective hearing and footwear. May be expected to work varying shifts and hours to ensure successful operation of activities in the organization due to business demands; travel occasionally for assigned work.
