JOB SUMMARY

Distributes patient menus, meals and nourishment; provides customer service in cafeteria; prepares and serves foods; cashier duties; cooking and assisting with meal preparation. Also, performs ware-washing, pot & pan washing, general sanitation and food and supply storage


SPECIFIC ELEMENTS AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (* = Essential Functions)

  1. Prepares and cooks food for patients and cafeteria patrons.
  2. Supervises final preparation and presentation of most foods to insure high quality.
  3. Supervises the storage and appropriate use of leftovers.
  4. Assembles patient trays and nourishments for patients as required.
  5. Performs menu and diet procedures to insure patients receive appropriate foods at meal times.
  6. Participates in performance improvement activities; quality improvement and patient safety activities; assists in maintaining compliance with DOH accreditation and other internal and external regulatory standards including code of conduct.
  7. Cleans and sanitizes work areas and equipment as necessary.
  8. Is responsible for completing special function set-ups as requisitioned.
  9. Consults with the Dietary Manager regarding cafeteria menu development.
  10. Provides general supervision of the dietary department in the absence of the dietary manager.
  11. Occasionally works special functions as assigned.

Hours: Full Time, 5 shifts per week, weekend availability a must.


Salary: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour based on experience

Requirements:

Experience


  • High School or Equivalent and 1 year in commercial food service
  • Minimum of 5 years of commercial/restaurant food service experience required
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience required

Education

  • High School or equivalent required


Certifications/Skills

  • ServeSafe certification preferred
  • Culinary degree or certification preferred
