Fire Protection Designer

The Fire Protection Designer prepares layouts of sprinkler systems, detail drawings & diagrams. Plans prepared by designers include all views and dimensions necessary for the installation of a code compliant fire protection system.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities for Fire Protection Designer:</strong><br><ul><li>Design and hydraulically calculate complete sprinkler and standpipe systems using AutoSPRINK software</li><li>Coordinate design with other building trades</li><li>Produce stock list of material required throughout job progression</li><li>Coordination with project manager and internal teams</li></ul><br><strong>Requirements for Fire Protection Designer:</strong><br><ul><li>Thorough knowledge of NFPA Standards, government fire safety standards, and FM Global datasheets</li><li>Demonstrated proficient in AutoSPRINK, Navisworks, and Microsoft Office software</li><li>Capable of performing hydraulic calculations and experience with 3D BIM coordination</li><li>High level of self-discipline, motivation, and ability to operate in a team environment</li><li>Ability to work on multiple projects at the same time and meet established deadlines</li><li>Prioritize effectively, has good follow-through and practices self-implemented quality control measures</li><li>Detail-oriented and organized</li></ul><br><strong>Minimum Qualifications for Fire Protection Designer:</strong><br><ul><li>Minimum of 3 years' experience in fire sprinkler design</li><li>Valid driver's license and the ability to maintain it</li><li>NICET Certification</li></ul><br><strong>Travel Requirements for Fire Protection Designer:</strong><br><ul><li>Rare overnight travel may be required.</li></ul><br><strong>Work Location for the Fire Protection Designer:</strong><br><ul><li>1) South Windsor, CT office 5 days a week - Hybrid and remote positions are not available</li></ul><br><strong>Job Type:</strong>Full Time<br><br><strong>Recruitment Firms:</strong> We do not accept candidates from recruitment agencies.<br><br>Wolverine Fire Protection Co. operates nationwide with regional offices that span coast to coast.
