Financial Analyst:

We’ve partnered with a research institution in the Cambridge, MA (Alewife) area looking to bring on a Financial Analyst, to join their team. If you’re looking to advance your career in this work setting, then this is the job for you!

This position is temporary position for 6-month, with potential for it to convert permanently.

The right candidate for this opening must have 4-5 years of financial analyst experience, ideally from a research setting. Knowledge of research administration and sponsored research. Accounting knowledge- No accounting will take place in this role, but knowledge of how accounting works is ideal. Advanced Excel skills- Must know how to navigate Macros, Pivot Tables, VLookUps, Data Sets, Merging Tables, etc. Experience handling data analytics. Must have financial reporting experience- federal appropriations, trust funds, federal sponsored and foundations awards, gifts, endowments, etc.
Pay: $39-41/hr.
Days/Hours: Monday- Friday, 8:45-5:15pm or 9:00-5:30pm, 40/hrs./wk.
This position will require this person to work on a hybrid schedule of 3-days on-site, 2-days remote

Job Details:
Supports financial analysis and reporting function for various Institutional funding sources including federal appropriation, trust funds, direct and indirect activities related to federally sponsored and foundation awards, gift, endowment, discretionary funds, and business activities.
Monitors expenditures, reports on budget to actual activity, provides forecasting and trend analyses and other tailored reporting necessary for evaluating the financial health of the organization.
Performs reconciliations for various funds by reviewing accounts and financial records to ensure data integrity and that financial statements accurately reflect the financial standing of each division and department.
Assists in design and development of new financial reports and the layout improvement to existing reports, incorporating data composition enhancements, and utilizing data visualization techniques. Performs reconciliation and validation of data to ensure accuracy and integrity
