Fiber Optic Technician

Job Description Job Description Fiber Optic Technician Description · Conducts site prep including assembly · Conducts equipment inspections and completes proper documentation. Identifies unserviceable equipment and reports this to management · Ability to read and understand construction drawings and FTTx designs · Installs, replaces, and troubleshoots fiber optic communication circuits · Splices, terminates, and conducts testing of fiber optic circuits as required · Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Follows all safety policies and procedures Qualifications · Should have at least 2 years of experience working with fiber optic circuits · Verifiable work experience and references · High school diploma or equivalent · Must be able to communicate and understand verbal instructions in English · Knowledge and proper use of various hand tools and power tools · Willing to travel and work long hours/weekends/overnights as needed · Knowledge in operating test equipment · Microsoft Office computer skills a plus · Must pass a background check, drug test, and motor vehicle check · Must possess the following:

• CFOT certification
• OSHA 10

· CFOS/T and CFOS/S certifications are preferred, but not required Physical/Work Requirements · Employee will regularly lift and carry over 80 pounds · Employee will be required to work overhead · Employee will regularly twist, bend, stand, crawl, or kneel to perform job · Employee will periodically hand dig trenches · Work environment is primarily outside and as such presents varying, sometimes extreme, weather conditions Summary Telecom Construction Services, Inc. offers medical, dental, vision and life and disability insurance, accident, hospital and critical illness insurance, a 401k and paid vacation time off.
