Engineering Technician

<b> <b>Basic Job Functions:</b></b> <br> <br>The Research and Development Lab Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties under the supervision of the Research and Development Manager or designee. This position includes specimen preparation, product development/prototype support, and other highly diversified duties.The Lab Technician is required to be competent in the organization of documentation related to testing and supporting the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.<br> <br> <b>Additional Functions:</b> <br> <ul> <li>Clear and concise communication with engineers, team leaders, and fellow employees</li> <li>Troubleshooting and problem solving when variances in testing occur</li> <li>Design and fabrication of test specimens, equipment, and fixtures</li> <li>Analyzing, recording, and organizing test data, as required by a test standard or test protocol</li> <li>Perform a variety of laboratory experiments using both routine and special techniques and methods</li> <li>Collect, analyze, and process laboratory samples</li> <li>Record results, organize data, and perform basic computations</li> <li>Maintain laboratory supplies and equipment</li> <li>Comply with all safety standards</li> <li>Perform other duties as required.</li></ul> <br>Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.<br> <br> <b> <b>Minimum Qualifications:</b></b> <br> <br> <ul> <li>2 years basic construction, machining, and or fabrication</li></ul> <br> <b> <b>Preferred Qualifications:</b></b> <br> <br> <ul> <li>Knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical control systems</li> <li>Proficient in Auto Cad and Microsoft Office Products</li> <li>Prior test lab experience</li> <li>Completion of a craft apprentice</li> <li>Technical aptitude and skillset</li> <li>Effective communication skills (written and verbal)</li> <li>Troubleshooting and problem solving skills</li> <li>Detail oriented</li> <li>Ability to perform duties independently</li> <li>Applied Associates Degree in a technical field </li></ul> <br> <b>Nucor is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer - M/F/Disabled/Vets - and a drug - free workplace</b><img src="https://counter.adcourier.com/YmJnZW5lcmljLjYwMjE1LjEyNTI0QG51Y29yY29tcC5hcGxpdHJhay5jb20.gif">
