<b>Location: </b> Hastings, MN<br> <b>Salary: </b> $110,000.00 USD Annually - $140,000.00 USD Annually<br> <b>Description: </b> <br>Our Hastings, MN manufacturing client has an immediate need for an Engineering Manager.<br> <br> <strong>Responsibilities:</strong> The Engineering Manager oversees all aspects of the engineering function, from planning programs to aligning engineering activities with organizational objectives. Leading cross-functional teams, they ensure successful product outcomes from concept to market introduction. Key responsibilities include:<br> <br> <strong>Materials, Process & Technology Leadership:</strong> <br> <ul> <li>Lead Design Engineering, Tooling Development, and New Technology/Materials Development efforts.</li> <li>Formulate and lead cross-functional teams to enhance new product processes using Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma techniques.</li> <li>Collaborate with Sales and R&D for successful launch of new materials and technologies.</li> <li>Develop and maintain high-quality idea-to-launch and portfolio management processes.</li> <li>Stay abreast of market benchmarks, best practices, and post-launch reviews to improve processes and product design.</li> <li>Provide technical leadership in development processes, implementing Design for Manufacturability standards.</li> <li>Identify and implement improvements in manufacturing methods and technologies.</li> <li>Foster internal and external customer relationships to ensure effective utilization of components, materials, and tools.</li> <li>Develop and implement strategic plans aligned with company visions and initiatives.</li> <li>Evaluate, justify, and execute Capital needs per Strategic Plan.</li> <li>5+ years of management experience</li> <li>Extrusion Experience</li> <li>Tool and Die Experience</li> <li>Ability to foster a great team environment and culture.</li></ul> <strong>Facilitator/Educator:</strong> <br> <ul> <li>Engage cross-functional teams at various levels within the organization.</li> <li>Ensure team members understand their roles and execute them effectively, emphasizing design for manufacturability.</li> <li>Set measurable goals and objectives, providing consistent performance feedback.</li> <li>Regularly review individual progress and provide advice and direction.</li> <li>Offer opportunities for skill enhancement through external training and development.</li> <li>Stay updated on engineering technology and trends, fostering innovation within the company.</li> <li>Collaborate with plant management on evaluating and purchasing manufacturing equipment.</li></ul> <strong>Interpreter/Communicator:</strong> <br> <ul> <li>Communicate with stakeholders to identify engineering and tooling needs and develop appropriate solutions.</li> <li>Keep the department informed of overall company performance and objectives.</li> <li>Meet with customers as needed to understand requirements and explore improvement opportunities.</li></ul> <strong>Qualifications:</strong> <strong>Education/Experience:</strong> <br> <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in relevant Engineering field, Master's preferred.</li> <li>5+ years of custom profile extrusion experience with increasing responsibility.</li> <li>5+ years of supervisory experience of technical staff.</li> <li>Thermoplastic materials technology development experience.</li> <li>Demonstrated competence in Extrusion Tool & Die.</li></ul> <strong>Skills:</strong> <br> <ul> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Strong organizational abilities to coordinate workflow.</li> <li>Results-oriented with a commitment to continuous learning.</li> <li>Strong decision-making and independent thinking.</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CAD/CAM programs (e.g., SolidWorks), and relevant software.</li> <li>Proficient in conflict management, influencing, and negotiation.</li></ul> <ul> </ul> <b>Contact:</b> jtooker@judge.com<br> <br>This job and many more are available through The Judge Group.
