<b>Position Purpose:</b> <br> <br>Oversees and maintains new process and products for welding of suspension components for the facility. <br> <br> <b>Essential Functions:</b> <br> <br>&bull; Manage current production projects and support production & engineering with future product launches.<br> <br>&bull; Evaluate new and current product process and provide input regarding manufacturability and cost.<br> <br>&bull; Evaluate existing product designs/processes and make improvements regarding cost and quality.<br> <br>&bull; Design, procurement, and implementation of fabrication, welding, and assembly systems, including all necessary documentation.<br> <br>&bull; Perform manufacturing/product cost analysis and capacity evaluation.<br> <br>&bull; Manage/maintain welding process control activities for robotic GMAW Systems.<br> <br>&bull; Design and development of fabrication processes to support product demands.<br> <br>&bull; Assurance that all applicable quality and safety standards are met for new and existing products.<br> <br>&bull; Installation and launch of new production processes into various manufacturing facilities.<br> <br>&bull; Perform failure analysis on prototype fabrications.<br> <br>&bull; Management of weld tooling and consumables.<br> <br>&bull; Actively contribute to the continuous improvement of safety culture, participating in safety training sessions, and promptly reporting any safety concerns.<br> <br>&bull; All other duties as assigned.<br> <br> <b>Education and Training</b> <br> <br>&bull; BS in Engineering required. Preferably in welding or metallurgical engineering. Mechanical Engineer with adequate welding system experience shall be considered.<br> <br> <b>Minimum Qualifications</b> <br> <br>&bull; Metallurgical/material science experience preferred.<br> <br>&bull; Minimum 5 years' experience in manufacturing facility preferred.<br> <br>&bull; Experience in welding procedure specification development preferred.<br> <br>&bull; Experience with process development and A.P.Q.P. required.<br> <br>&bull; Experience in justification and procurement of capital equipment is required.<br> <br>&bull; Experience with NX, Uni-Graphics, or AutoCAD preferred.<br> <br>&bull; Experience in tooling/fixturing design preferred.<br> <br>&bull; G.D.& T and ISO/QS9000 experience preferred.<br> <br>&bull; Knowledge of D.F.M. practices preferred.<br> <br>&bull; Hands on experience with weld fabrication process to include robotic welding.<br> <br>&bull; Results oriented individual with a strong sense of personal responsibility.<br> <br>&bull; Displays leadership and a desire to accept accountability.<br> <br>&bull; Self-motivated person who sees things through to conclusion.<br> <br>&bull; Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.<br> <br>&bull; Good communication and interpersonal skills.<br> <br>&bull; Possesses a high degree of integrity and a strong work ethic.<br> <br> <b> Physical Demands</b> <br> <br>&bull; Frequent sitting, work at a computer for extended periods of time<br> <br>&bull; Must be willing to travel to Hendrickson manufacturing facilities on an as-needed basis<br> <br>&bull; Must be able to lead the physical assembly of his/her own mechanical/electrical machine designs, making adjustments as needed.<br> <br> <b>Environmental Conditions</b> <br> <ul> <li>Non-environmental controlled environment (hot in summer months/cool in winter months</li> <li>Dust/debris (eye protection required)</li> <li>Oil</li> <li>Noise (use of hearing protection required)</li></ul> <br>*This is not a comprehensive list of duties.
