Position Summary: Physicians are responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating a variety of healthcare conditions presented by a diverse patient population. This position works in the Emergency Department.
Principal Functions and Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat patients in accordance with one’s training, specialty, and privileges.
- Accurately and timely document for medical necessity, as defined by Medical Staff Rules, patient information including medical history, clinical condition, medical interventions utilized for treatment, and plan of care.
- Appropriately order diagnostic tests for diagnosing or treatment and conduct patient follow up as needed.
- Provide guidance and applicable delegation to clinical staff including, but not limited, to RN’s, LPN’s, MA’s, CNA’s, Diagnostic Imaging Techs, and/or Laboratory Techs/Scientists.
- Promote a patient-centered model of care by collaborating with the patient, specialists as needed, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Actively participate in Risk, Compliance, Quality, Performance Improvement, Patient Safety, and Infection Prevention programs as deemed necessary by the organization.
- Follow Organization Policy, Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules.
- Other duties as assigned in support of the organization.
Required Experience and Skills:
Required Education: MD or DO
Licensure: Licensed in the State of Idaho, DEA Registration, Idaho Pharmacy
Minimum: Specialty Board Eligible
Preferred: Board Certified Emergency Medicine
Must meet all requirements of the medical staff membership
Must complete enrollment with all our payors
Work Environment: Emergency room in a Critical Access Hospital
Working Conditions: Direct patient care. General Health care environment exposure to patient conditions. Office work.
Physical Requirements: Standing, walking, bending, stooping, sitting, hand eye coordination, speaking. Lifting 50 lbs. Carry/maneuver Patients
