Senior Dental Office Manager
Responsibilities:
Responsible for administering the day-to-day activities of the business office, including: patient and employee relations, staff interviewing, management of insurance, and communications efforts, ensuring regulatory compliance, staff training and motivation. Assist the senior manager and dentist with other tasks as assigned
Specific Duties
Supervise day-to-day operations of dental office
Supervise direct staff assignments and activities, in accordance with office policies and applicable laws.
Manage compliance with OSHA, state and federal regulations
Know and follow dental office contingency plan
Stay current with trends, legislation and regulations in the dental profession
Manage patient financial accounts
Supervise the ongoing performance of staff
Supervise and update office computer systems
Patient Management
Oversee patient relations and handle patient complaints
Help explain office policy to patient
Help support staff as needed (appointment scheduling, collections, insurance, assistant dentist as need it.)
Monitor patient relations with regular patient satisfaction surveys.
Staff Management
Assign, direct and manage staff duties, as assigned by the senior manager and dentist.
Determine staff schedules according with senior manager
Orient and train new staff
Organize staff training on OSHA and HIPAA compliance
Display any posters required by federal, state or local law
Monitor staff performance
Coordinate team meetings
Engage in conflict resolution
Qualifications/Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent. Dental Assistant Certificate and x-ray certificate
Bilingual English, Spanish.
Back and front office experience
Working knowledge of computers, for word processing, insurance and record
Epic, Apteryx, Dentrix software experience
Knowledge or experience in staff management
Observes CMOAR policy/procedures regarding Conduct in the work place:
Observe regulations on time card use and reporting.
Maintain attendance as a policy.
Maintain a clean and safe work area.
Observe general Safety/Employee Health policies and procedures.
Maintain a current annual health screening.
Observe CMOAR Appearance/Dress standards.
Maintain the privacy and confidentiality of both client and employee with regard to medical records.
Display clearly visible identification.
Treat all patients with respect and dignity and adheres’ to the Patient Bill of Rights.
Treat all employees with respect and dignity in accordance to non-discriminatory policy and procedure.
Treat all employees/clients in a courteous and professional manner.
Conduct only work related conversations when clients are waiting for service.
Do not discuss other staff members, policies, problems or medical care in public areas of clinic.
