Vice President of Development - Sales and Acquisitions

Start Your Journey with Midas Hospitality: Midas Hospitality is seeking a Vice President of Development who will be focused on sourcing new opportunities to expand Midas's owned portfolio and underwriting those opportunities to facilitate the development process. This includes handling all inquiries for development along with site diligence and brand facilitation. This individual will serve as an articulate, visible and effective spokesperson for the organization and its projects. When projects are selected, the VP of Business Development will be responsible to deliver clear and accurate details of initial project outlines to the Vice Presidents of Development.

What You Will Be Doing: Research and identify upcoming development projects and market trends. Identify and pursue land/hotel acquisition opportunities in strategic markets. Review and evaluate preliminary studies and due diligence for prospective and pipeline projects. Research and present local entitlements, utility agreements and any other site and/or city related requirements. Prepare hotel financial operations projects, development budget, debt assumptions and overall investment return analysis in coordination with the team and appropriate stakeholders. Establish site control by leading letter of intent negotiation efforts and coordinating with legal to execute purchase and sale agreements. Prepare and present proposals and pitch decks for new projects and partnerships. Build and maintain long term relationships with real estate commercial brokers. Build network of key franchisor development contacts, investor partners, landowners, brokers and hotel consultant/appraisers. Attend periodic industry conferences as appropriate. Coordinate and establish owner meetings agendas in conjunction with VPs of Development and project management team. Provide support to Midas Capital for property acquisitions and dispositions. Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

The Ideal Candidate: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Management or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. 7 years of experience working in hospitality or multi-family transactions, developing and managing growth strategies and originating business development opportunities with partners and customers. 4 to 6 years progressive work-related experience in hotel and mixed-use projects, with demonstrated proficiency in multiple disciplines/processes related to the position Prior closing history and an existing network in the development sector. Demonstrated track record in structuring and negotiating commercial transactions. Strong analytical skills and pro-forma financial modeling experience. Must be able to work effectively with vendors, corporate staff and ownership and possess strong relationship development/management skills. Conflict management/resolution and negotiation/persuasion skills critical. Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of hotel operations. Construction experience/background a plus.
