Overview: The Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS) is seeking a highly motivated and creative coordinator and implementer for external communications to help us expand our advocacy, social media, and fundraising outreach for our mission. The Senior External Communications Officer will be responsible for creating and executing social media and advocacy campaigns that will promote our mission and engage donors. He/she will also be responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies that leverage social media to increase donations. This position reports to the Executive Director.

Responsibilities: Develop and implement social media and fundraising strategies that align with SAMS' goals and objectives Create compelling content for social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram that inspires donors to give Manage and maintain SAMS' social media accounts, including scheduling posts and responding to comments and messages Monitor and analyze the performance of SAMS' social media accounts, using analytics tools to track engagement, reach, and other key metrics Collaborate with the fundraising team to develop and implement online fundraising campaigns that leverage social media to increase donations Stay up-to-date with the latest social media and fundraising trends and best practices, and incorporate them into our strategies Monitor social media conversations related to SAMS and respond to mentions and messages as needed Build relationships with social media influencers and partners to increase SAMS' reach and engagement Create content for social media, advocacy efforts, and other agency needs. Help implement advocacy campaigns that require external communications with a wide array of stakeholders. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Fundraising, or a related field; or 5+ years of relevant experience. 3+ years of experience in social media marketing and fundraising, preferably in the nonprofit sector Strong writing and editing skills, with the ability to create engaging content for social media channels that inspires donors to give Familiarity with social media management tools such as Hootsuite, Sprout Social, or Buffer Proficiency in social media analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Facebook Insights, or Twitter Analytics Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously Passion for social impact and the mission of SAMS Strong fundraising skills, including experience in developing and implementing online fundraising campaigns and donor stewardship Arabic speaking preferred.
