Located in Livingston-Oakland County, our client is a construction contractor that has been successful for over 35 years. The company prides itself on the strengths of its field personnel and management team, which has led to significant growth and geographical expansion. Projects range from large scale airport runway repair projects, multi-mile freeway pavement maintenance, and some mid-sized commercial projects.


The Division Manager Position

The Division Manager is a combined Project Manager & Estimator position, having a direct influence on the results of projects and the overall success of the Company. This position is located out of Wixom, MI and supports employees and projects in states including: Missouri, Iowa, Nebraska, and Kansas, (MINK Division). Monthly short-duration travel will be required, but still based in the Michigan home office.This person will report to the Vice President.

The Division Manager reviews and submits competitive bids with the appropriate parties, coordinates material take-offs, manages projects through final close-out, manages the regional equipment fleet, provides oversight to field labor, and develops and expands the regional market through establishing meaningful relationships.


Preferred Experience, Skills, and Abilities for theDivision Manager

  • At least 5 years of experience in highway construction is preferred
  • Bachelors degree with a focus in Construction Management or Civil Engineering, is preferred
  • At least 1 year of Construction Management Experience is required
  • Ability to strategize, multi-task, and maintain organization is essential
  • Knowledge of budgeting, profit and loss statements, and how projects (and companies) ultimately make a profit
  • Knowledge or acceptance of exemplary ethical standards for contracting with state and federal authorities
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Ability to travel overnight on occasion for necessary projects and meetings

This is a full-time, permanent position that offers a competitive base salary, clearly defined bonus plan directly tied to project profitability, 401K plan with a 4% employer match, paid time off, and an entrepreneurial company culture.
