Job Title: Dish Washer

Status: Hourly

Reports To: Kitchen Manager


Purpose: To ensure cooks, servers, food runners, and servers have the kitchen supplies when they need them. To maintain clean and sanitary conditions in the kitchen according to health and safety standards. which includes the proper sanitation, drying, sorting and re-set of all dishware, pots, pans, silver ware, drinking glasses, utensils, coffee cups and other items related to the kitchen.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Wash all silverware, plateware, pots, pans, and cooking utensils for the theater
  • Prioritize loads to ensure that a steady supply of clean kitchenware is available, and in the order necessary, to re-set the theater tables
  • Ensure proper amounts of cleaning and drying chemicals are loaded in the washer according to load size and machines instructions.
  • Ensure proper temperatures are maintained according to health and safety guidelines.
  • Remove from service any damaged or broken dishes, utensils, and glassware.
  • Report any damaged items and equipment promptly to direct supervisor.
  • Unload washer and store items in proper areas.
  • Empty and clean garbage bins and breakdown boxes as needed.
  • Strive to maintain a safe and clean work area at all times.
  • Perform other kitchen duties as assigned by direct supervisor.
  • Work well as a member of a team to provide excellent service in an upscale work environment
  • Be flexible and willing to perform some minor food preparation tasks along with dishwashing duties.

Position Requirements:

  • Communicates easily with others
  • Agile and flexible, able to respond to different priorities and quickly rearrange workflow to immediately get kitchen staff and servers the items they need.
  • Good stamina that allows one to perform repetitive tasks and stand on one's feet all day without excessive fatigue.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds several times per day
  • Ability to place cases, pans, utensils, and plates on both low and high shelves
  • Ability to work in hot and damp environments
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations to avoid endangering themselves or others
  • Safe Serve certification. If no certification, course will have to be completed on property before starting work.

Education: High School diploma or GED preferred


Essential Functions:

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands dexterously and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb and descend stairs, reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds on their own. This position requires continuous ability to remember information and verbally communicate clearly.
