<p> <b>TITLE: </b>Director, Borra Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence</p> <p> <b>FLSA STATUS: </b>Salaried Exempt</p> <p> <b>SALARY RANGE: </b>$63,492 - $71,940</p> <p> <b>DEPARTMENT: </b>Office of the Provost</p> <p> <b>REPORTS TO: </b>Associate Provost</p> <p> </p> <p> <b> <u>PRIMARY PURPOSE/POSITION SUMMARY:</u></b></p> <p>The Director of the Borra Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence (CTLE) is primarily responsible for establishing, developing and evaluating the fulfillment of the Center's core mission of promoting excellence in teaching and learning. The Director collaborates with others to create, implement and evaluate the instructional and institutional practices that contribute to innovative teaching and transformative learning and that, prepare our students to contribute to a more just and humane world. The Director will focus on developing inclusive pedagogies that address the needs of the University's diverse student population and expand opportunities for digital and online teaching and learning, including short- term and hybrid formats.</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> <b> <u>EXPECTATIONS FOR ALL DOMINICAN EMPLOYEES:</u></b></p> <p>To support the University&#39;s mission of preparing students to pursue truth, to give compassionate service, and to participate in the creation of a more just and humane world.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b> <u>JOB COMPONENTS/PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:</u></b></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Design, organize, contribute to, and deliver programs and events that promote scholarly, innovative, inclusive and effective teaching practices. </li> <li>Establish and assess institutional practices that foster excellence in teaching, focusing on <b>inclusive pedagogy and online learning modalities.</b></li> <li>Provide support for faculty in teaching and the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) through consultation, teaching observations, and other related services.</li> <li>Develop and implement programming and resources that support new faculty members.</li> <li>Enhance and expand the regional presence and recognition of the Borra Center.</li> <li> Actively participate on multiple university and senate committees, collaborating effectively and contributing to policy development and strategic university initiatives.</li> <li>Teach one or more courses in field of expertise per academic year.</li> <li>Partner with the Office of Hispanic-Serving Institutions (OHSI) to enhance faculty development and curriculum assessment.</li> <li>Other duties as assigned by supervisor.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> <b> <u>QUALIFICATIONS:</u></b></p> <p> <b>Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:</b></p> <p> </p> <p>1. Knowledge of and documented success with:</p> <ul> <li>Innovative and inclusive teaching approaches, including effective use of technology.</li> <li>Experience with online and hybrid learning environments.</li> <li>Assessment strategies that enhance academic achievement.</li> <li>The scholarship of teaching and learning within higher education.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>2. Demonstrated ability to:</p> <ul> <li>Collaborate and strategize effectively to support institutional priorities.</li> <li>Communicate effectively with faculty, external stakeholders, staff, and students, both orally and in writing.</li> <li>Manage the Center's budget efficiently.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>3. Excellent organizational, interpersonal and management skills</p> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p> <b>Education and Experience:</b></p> <ul> <li>Terminal degree appropriate to discipline in which the Director teaches.</li> <li>Substantial and successful teaching experiences in higher education.</li> <li>Professional development experience.</li> <li>Documentation of successful curricular and instructional design pedagogy.</li> <li>Record of participation in national organizations.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>Preference will be given to candidates who have demonstrated experience in inclusive pedagogy and online teaching and learning.</p> <p> </p> <p> <b>DOMINICAN UNIVERSITY</b> </p> <p> </p> <p>Dominican University is a Catholic, comprehensive teaching university located in River Forest, a suburb of Chicago.
